and it’s the result of my exploration with Galway sheep’s wool.

Picture this: a beautiful textile wall hanging that captures the essence of Ireland’s stunning landscapes. I’ve carefully chosen colours that reflect the lush beauty of the Irish countryside – think rich blues, vibrant greens, and warm sunlit golds. To add a touch of texture, I’ve  of ivory carefully selected the colours for this piece, creating a captivating contrast that mimics the intricate patterns found in natural wool.

As you gaze at the piece, you’ll notice the deep blues and greens that take centre stage, representing the profound depths of Ireland’s scenery. But it’s not all about the cool tones; I’ve also woven in striking highlights of orange that bring to mind the warm hues of a sunset or the fiery colours of fall.

This artwork isn’t just visually captivating; it’s also substantial in size, measuring 35″ in length and 37″ in width. To give it an extra dimension, I’ve suspended it from an abstract piece of sally tree – a choice that adds depth and uniqueness to the piece.

The dimensions I mentioned don’t include the fringe,  decorative tassel-like edge.

All in all, “A Symphony of Irish Wool: Suspended Serenity – Sally Wood’s Dance” is my way of paying tribute to the beauty of Galway sheep’s wool and the breath-taking landscapes of Ireland. I hope you can feel the serenity and vibrancy that inspired me as you take in this piece.
